pageant
simple little rhyming play
every Christmas: plastic hay, doll for Jesus, mangled
lines
'go-back-on-you're-doing-fines'—these are all the little things
, paper crowns and crooked wings,
Struggles to enact the whole
Gift-greatness of the newborn soul.
